ABOUT JON

I hold a First Class BMus(Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and a Distinction HND from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford — two of the UK's best music institutions.

Away from teaching I'm an active gigging musician. I play regularly with a reggae band and a Cuban salsa band, and I've performed all over the UK — including Brecon Jazz Festival — and as far afield as Baku, Azerbaijan.

That real-world performance background makes a difference. I know what it actually takes to play well, to perform under pressure, and to keep getting better — and I bring all of that into every lesson.

I work with all ages and all levels — from absolute beginners picking up a guitar for the first time, to more experienced players who want to push their technique, nail their grades, or just finally learn that song they've always wanted to play.
